Is the St Modwen Developments (The Argus, February 4) shown charming Brighton and Hove city councillors as it demolishes buildings at the derelict Woodingdean bakery site the same St Modwen Developments that seeks to overdevelop the landward side of the West Pier?
If so, councillors need to be on their guard against being pressurised into trade-offs not necessarily in the best interests of the city.
Incidentally, since the Woodingdean site became derelict, because none of the businesses on it were sufficiently successful to want to remain there, how likely is it "hundreds of jobs" will be created when the redevelopment is complete?
