A decision on a superpub's entertainment licence has been delayed to make time to review the long list of objections to it.
The Bar Med chain was due to discover the outcome of a three-day hearing but the decision has been adjourned.
The chain plans to open a £1 million pub in the former Landmark furniture store in Chapel Road, Worthing, and wants a licence to stay open until midnight.
Residents in Worthing launched a huge campaign against the application, claiming it would turn their seaside town into the South Coast's answer to Ibiza.
Magistrates heard evidence from two council officers, four members of the police authority and two residents opposing the licence.
David Bowen, environmental health manager at Worthing Borough Council, said the authority was opposed to the licence being granted because of increased noise and risk of crime and disorder in the area.
Magistrates will hear closing submissions for and against the application on March 27.
