The Knoll Infants School in Hove and Goldstone Junior School closed last July. The new Goldstone Primary School was created.
Now we parents are worried because the education department may decide to do a U-turn. We have a new name, a new logo, a new uniform and a wonderful headteacher, Richard Sutton-Smith. We need the new building as soon as possible. It would be crazy to go back to infants and juniors now.
Many of us do not understand why the education department did not research whether it had adequate funds to build at Laburnum Avenue. We have brilliant teachers who really respect Mr Sutton-Smith. They do not want a U-turn either. We were sad to see Mrs Eagles leave and then Mr Thomas and we do not want to lose Mr Sutton-Smith. It's not fair to upset the staff, children and parents of the Goldstone Primary School by deciding to revert to two schools.
