In all the irrelevant speculation about whether little Leo has had the MMR jab, the
one vital statistic so far not mentioned is just how many of the current confirmed cases of measles reported had received either the MMR or single-dose vaccine. I can't help feeling that if, indeed, none of them had, the Government and its medical advisers would be shouting the fact from the rooftops in support of its position.
Oh, by the way, contrary to the assertion at the Press conference of one of these medical advisers, withholding the MMR is not "literally playing Russian roulette" (a risky process involving a partly-loaded gun being held to one's head and the trigger being pulled).
I find it difficult to put much faith in someone who doesn't know the difference between "literally" and "metaphorically".
