Youngsters have been stopped and questioned in a truancy sweep in East Sussex towns.
Officers from Sussex Police and the county council's education welfare service quizzed 15 children in Crowborough and Uckfield.
A further 11 were stopped in Bexhill.
Officers patrolled areas around schools and main shopping areas, questioning any child of school age seen out of lessons.
Parents of youngsters found out of school were notified.
Details of the sweep, which happened last week, were released today.
