Chocoholic Mark Haas lived on Cadbury's Creme Eggs for a week so he could give his girlfriend a Valentine's gift to remember.
Mark, 26, bought girlfriend Alice Mulford a picnic with llamas - her favourite animal - with wrappers from the fondant-filled chocolate eggs as part of a product promotion.
He scoffed his way through almost 100 of the Easter favourites with the help of his three housemates after spotting the deal on Cadbury's auction web site.
He said: "When I saw this llama trek lot up for auction, I just knew I had to bid for it.
"We lived off nothing but Creme Eggs for about a week. There was a huge pile in the living room and we just tucked in."
Computer-science student Mark, who lives in Lewes Road, Brighton, collected the foil wrappers and sent them to Cadbury's to place his bid.
After a tense wait, he was informed he had been successful.
Now he and girlfriend Alice, 21, a student at Bristol University, will spend the day at a llama farm somewhere in the UK, taking the animals out for a trek and a romantic picnic.
Mark said: "My girlfriend is mad about llamas and it will be a brilliant surprise for her as a Valentine's gift."
Cadbury's launched the auction, where Creme Egg fans can bid for fun-packed experiences, in the run-up to Easter.
Other lots include a flight in a Tiger Moth biplane, a week in Hollywood and a quad biking safari for two.
