County councillors in East Sussex are being predictable in opposing plans by Brighton and Hove Albion for a new stadium at Falmer.
They have joined Lewes District and Falmer Parish Council in saying sites at Village Way are not suitable.
Luckily, the planning decision is not down to them but will be made by Brighton and Hove City Council.
They will only have an influence if the scheme ever goes before a public inquiry.
Don't these councillors realise the popularity of football? Not only are Albion heading for a second successive promotion but other Sussex clubs such as Crawley, Lewes and Burgess Hill are doing well.
Albion can't stay where they are at Withdean and there's no other site but Falmer. It's depressing that county councillors appear unable to see this.
