Simon Morgan was back at the heart of the Albion defence against promotion rivals Huddersfield at Withdean on Saturday.
Boss Peter Taylor rested the veteran former Fulham stopper from Monday's 3-1 destruction of leaders Reading.
Morgan, 35, returned at the expense of teenager Adam Virgo as the Seagulls chased a fifth straight home victory.
It was the only change to the squad, which was understandable considering the quality of the performance against Reading.
Loan signing Junior Lewis, who scored on his full debut against the table-toppers, recovered from a slight groin injury to take his place on the left side of midfield.
Steve Melton was on the right of the central trio again, having celebrated his first League start under Taylor with only the second League goal of his career on Monday.
Charlie Oatway, the victim of Melton's call-up, was missing from the 16 once more after sustaining a back injury in the Reserves at Leyton Orient on Wednesday.
Danny Cullip retained the captaincy, with Oatway out and Paul Rogers on the bench, while Bobby Zamora spearheaded the attack in his final appearance before a three-match ban.
Striker Leon Knight, on loan from Chelsea, was back from a one-game suspension for Huddersfield.
That meant Danny Schofield switching to the left with midfielder Craig Armstrong on his way to Sheffield Wednesday.
Having despatched the pacesetters so impressively five days ago, the Seagulls now faced the side on top of the current form table.
