Hastings reject Graham Webb has vowed to score the goals which will keep St Leonards in the Eastern Division.
The 19-year-old striker moved from Town to neighbours Saints last week after failing to win a regular place in George Wakeling's side.
Webb found himself behind the likes of Paul Jones, Chris Honey, Danny Simmonds and Landry Zahana-Oni at the Pilot Field this season and although he made 26 appearances, all were as a substitute.
The teenage hitman trained with his new team-mates in the week and was quick to set himself a target for Saints' 14 remaining league games.
Webb said: "I'd like seven goals. I set my standards quite high and to get into double figures would be nice. We have to get out of the situation we are in and hopefully I can score a few goals."
The marksman has left Hastings with no grudge against the club.
"I have moved purely for football reasons," he said. "I was at the club for 18 months and simply wasn't playing."
Webb added that he was pleased to link up again with St Leonards manager Glyn White.
"I used to play under Glyn when he was reserve team boss at Hastings and was impressed with him. He is a very good professional coach and a strict disciplinarian. I think he's an excellent judge of character so I am glad he came in for me.
"I will miss everyone at Hastings, the fans, the board and the team, but I wanted to be playing first team football and they have some very good forwards there. I never said to George that he should be playing me but maybe I should have been more persuasive."
Webb scored on his debut in a 2-0 win over Ashford last year but was promptly dropped.
"I guess I should have said to the manager that he couldn't drop me after that. Now I just want a fair crack of the whip."
Webb joins Saints with White's team in good form after picking up ten points from their last four matches.
Wakeling said: "I wish him all the best and I told him if it doesn't work out he should ring me because when someone serves the club correctly and leaves correctly the door is always open."
St Leonards have released 25-year-old striker Jason Davy. He joined St Leonards from Oxford City in the close season.
White said: "For the money I have saved on Jason I have got in Terry White, Graham Webb and Danny Whyman so it's a good move for him and it's a good move for us."
