Holders Brighton charged into the semi-finals of the Sussex Cup with a 10-0 drubbing of Penguin.
Carlo Missirian's side displayed clinical finishing to highlight the gulf in the respective leagues as they brushed aside a more than useful Sussex Open League outfit.
There were five goals in each half with Paul Daniels leading the way with four of them. Graham Pruce chipped in with a hat-trick, Zimbabwean Elvis Brown added two and Richard Cooke also scored.
Stand-in Penguin keeper Moose Francis saved a penalty flick from Pruce and made some other good stops to share his side's man-of-the-match vote with skipper Mark Tyler.
Brighton skipper Missirian said: "It was a whitewash. We played some very good hockey and what was really pleasing was that we weren't complacent.
"Their goalkeeper was outstanding."
Brighton will now meet Worthing on March 24.
Worthing went through 4-2 against Open League leaders South Saxons.
Matt Ansell opened the scoring but Saxons drew level before half time. The Saxons keeper made a string of good saves, most notably from Worthing skipper Simon Holloway, but he was finally beaten when Mark Duncan converted a cross.
Ansell then scored his second from a short corner and striker Andy Allan added a fourth with his first goal in 18 games. Saxons scored a second from a short corner late on.
The other semi final will be between Chichester and Horsham.
As expected, Chichester were comfortable 9-0 victors against Open League division one side Billy Pickles.
Most notable feature were the performances of Jack Lerwill and Ralf Veltom. Both 15, the pair had been promoted to the 2nd XI and took full advantage. Lerwill's touch and vision were superb throughout while Veltom bagged a hat-trick which included a penalty flick.
Horsham had a more tricky tie against Crowborough but went through 2-1. Ian Brown scored twice against his former club, including a late winner with a reverse stick flick into the bottom left hand corner.
Crowborough goalkeeper Dave Clark pulled off a series of saves while, going forward, his side were worth their equaliser when Ian Easton cancelled out Brown's opener.
In the Kent/Sussex Regional League, Brighton kept the pressure on leaders Holcombe with a 4-1 victory away to fifth placed Gillingham Anchorians.
Brighton had to do it the hard way as they came from behind to snatch maximum points.
Pruce made it 1-1 at half time and Cooke put Brighton ahead. Daniels added a third and Brown wrapped up victory with his first goal for the club.
Holcombe, who remain a point clear with four games to go, matched Brighton's result with a 4-1 win away to Mid Sussex. James Goodwin got the consolation.
Worthing enjoyed a fine 2-1 win over Herne Bay although they were grateful for a late penalty save by Daniel Godsmark.
Mark Duncan scored twice before John Massie missed a penalty flick. Worthing were almost made to pay as Herne Bay pulled a goal back and then won a late penalty which Godsmark kept out.
Horsham drew 1-1 with Folkestone although, in a goalless first half, Richard Lowe hit a post with a penalty flick. The visitors took the lead after the interval but Horsham levelled through skipper Mark Ansell.
Crawley squandered a two-goal lead as they were held to a 2-2 draw away to Ashford. Skipper Terry Higgs opened the scoring before Jerome Starkey made it 2-0. Further chance went begging as Ashford clawed their way back for the draw.
Higgs said: "The only consolation is that the other teams in the bottom three didn't win so we are still in with a chance of survival."
