Albion boss Peter Taylor has set his promotion chasers a minimum target of a win, draw and defeat without Bobby Zamora.
The Seagulls' 26-goal star starts a three-match suspension against relegation-threatened Wrexham at Withdean on Saturday.
He is also ruled out of the south coast derby at Bournemouth a week today and the trip to promotion rivals Stoke on March 1.
Taylor admitted: "These next three matches are very important to us. If we get four points out of them it wouldn't be terrible.
"We would love to get more, but I don't think it would be the worst thing that could happen.
"We lose Bobby, which is a shame, and we are going to really miss him for three matches.
"Who ever comes in has got an opportunity to get on the scoresheet and make sure we keep winning."
Taylor is still weighing up whether to pursue signing a striker on loan before the Wrexham clash. He is short of cover up front because Daniel Webb also begins a two-match ban on Saturday.
Zamora has escaped the threat of a second suspension, despite collecting his fourth yellow card of the season in the closing stages of last Saturday's 1-0 home win against Huddersfield.
Five bookings normally lead to an automatic one-match ban, but players are let-off with a warning about their future conduct if the fifth occurs after February.
It means captain Danny Cullip, Robbie Pethick, Nathan Jones and Kerry Mayo will also escape if they avoid cautions against Wrexham or Bournemouth. That quartet are on four bookings.
Alex Ferguson's son Darren will be back in midfield for Wrexham following a one-match ban.
Junior Lewis and goalkeeper Michel Kuipers missed training yesterday, but Taylor is confident they will be fit to face Wrexham.
Last Saturday's goal hero Lewis is still nursing a groin injury, while Kuipers suffered a bruised knee in the second half.
Charlie Oatway has resumed training following a knee injury in the reserves last week which sidelined him from the squad against Huddersfield. The midfielder could play for the reserves against Gillingham at Worthing tomorrow night.
