C Aubrey Smith's involvement with cricket (Letters, February 16) didn't end when he left Sussex and England for film fame in Twenties and Thirties Hollywood.
Well into his 70s, he continued to organise the Hollywood Cricket Club ensuring, as David Niven tells in his autobiography, that he and other ex-pats turned out to play every Sunday.
