Antisocial neighbours and drivers could face a hefty fine as part of a clampdown on noise pollution in Eastbourne.
The borough council and Sussex Police have joined forces in the purge.
They have been seizing stereo equipment and say they'll keep prosecuting people for playing car stereos too loudly.
Councillor Ann Murray, council representative for residential services, said: "These actions are an example of joint working under the Crime Reduction Partnership and shows antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated."
Fines imposed on noise polluters have ranged from £50 to £750 and the maximum fine is £5,000.
Sergeant Rob Barrasford, of the Eastbourne Community Problem Solving Team, said: "We recognise the nuisance such behaviour causes residents and, wherever possible, we will work together using the full arm of the law to make such precautions possible."
