Albion boss Peter Taylor has warned fans not to expect Wrexham to be whipped as the Seagulls bid for six of the best at Withdean on Saturday.
The Welshmen are rooted in the relegation zone, a gaping 33 points adrift of Taylor's promotion chasers, but he has stressed another home win should not be taken for granted.
Albion chalked up their fifth successive victory at Withdean against fellow high-flyers Huddersfield last Saturday.
The previous three were also against promotion rivals, Reading, Tranmere and Cardiff, although the run began with an anxious 4-3 defeat of rock-bottom Cambridge United.
Stoke and Brentford, two more of the promotion contenders, were held to draws last Saturday by clubs towards the foot of the table and Wrexham thermselves only lost to a last-gasp goal at Queens Park Rangers.
"The expectation here will automatically be that we are going to win, because of the position they are in and the position we are in, but it will be as hard as Huddersfield," said Taylor.
"We've had a hard run of matches, playing a lot of teams that are in the top six or close to the top six, so we are absolutely delighted to come out of that in the position we are in.
"But Wrexham are fighting for their lives. A lot of lower teams got points off the top teams last Saturday and that is what can happen."
Taylor's caution is given extra credence by the beginning of a three-match ban for Bobby Zamora. He has bagged almost half of Albion's League goals and two of his 22 secured the points at Wrexham in September.
Albion are just two points behind leaders Reading with a game in hand, but Taylor would prefer them to win on Saturday when they tackle fourth-placed Stoke at the Madejski Stadium.
He is focusing at this stage on the space the Seagulls have opened up in the second automatic promotion spot as opposed to a pursuit of consecutive championships.
"I am not worried about Reading," he said. "To be six points clear of the rest is nice."
