A police station in Eastbourne is to undergo a £110,000 modernisation programme from next month.
A ten-week programme of improvements to Grove Road police station will begin on March 4.
Workmen will install hearing loops for the hard of hearing, an enlarged waiting and seating area, modified counters for the disabled and new Sussex Police signage.
It will be the first major facelift at the station for two decades. During the work period, opening times will be restricted to 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
Divisional resource manager Suzanne Wallis said: "It's recognised that the age-old institution of the blue light above the local police station provides reassurance in our neighbourhoods.
"This project continues that symbolism by giving it a modern and contemporary feel.
"We have responded to the calls from the community to provide a modern, friendly and more comfortable facility, updating the image of Sussex Police and bringing it into the 21st Century."
