A specially-made teddy bear has raised more than £2,500 to help restore the Old Toll Bridge in Shoreham.
Tolby the bear was raffled off on Friday after selling thousands of tickets.
The bear, dressed in peaked cap and uniform, was won by Shoreham resident Mrs E Bishop, who was not at the ceremony in St Peter's Church, West Street, to collect it.
The raffle, organised by the Shoreham Society, brought the town one step closer to raising the £500,000 needed to restore the Grade II listed bridge across the River Adur.
The society needs to raise £100,000 of that and has already raised almost £20,000 in nine months.
West Sussex County Council, which owns the right of way, has allocated £100,000 and a bid has been put in for £300,000 National Lottery funding.
Vera Tickler, secretary of the society, said: "We are thrilled to bits about the money raised by the raffle."
Tolby was handmade by Pat Hoare from Shoreham, who also made Lewis Teddy to raise money for the Lewes Flood Appeal.
