Former Radio One DJ Mike Read will perform his new single for the first time at a charity event hosted by the Mayor of Worthing.
Mike will sing That'll Be The Day, a tribute to George Harrison, at Valerie Sutton's quiz night extravaganza on March 7.
He wrote the tune a week after the ex-Beatle's death.
Mike said: "I only met George a couple of times but I wanted to express what he meant to me and to other people growing up in the Sixties.
"The song came very quickly. It was first thing in the morning and within an hour I'd written the basic song. It felt right."
The single will be released on March 4 and Mike has decided to give its first public rendition at Worthing Assembly Hall as part of the Mayor's Marvellous March Musical Money-Making Day.
He will also ask questions in the quiz on television, film clips and popular songs.
Proceeds will go to the Children's Centre at Worthing Hospital, Gifford House for disabled people and Canine Partners for Independence, the charity which trains dogs for disabled people.
Tickets cost £6 and are available from the box office on 01903 206206.
