If you need an accounting package that is also a comprehensive stock control system and a management and marketing tool, TAS Books 3 could be the one for you.
The manual is clearly written in layman's terms, guiding you step-by-step through each interface.
A demonstration company allows you to enter transactions from the tutorial manual to familiarise you with the software's functions.
I liked the immediacy of TAS Books 3 with each new entry being updated and posted to the relevant analysis codes in real time.
Unlike many other accountancy packages, mistakes can be corrected with an easy to use editing feature. Each of the ledgers close individually at the month or period end. So you can still work on the February purchase ledger when you have moved on to the March sales ledger.
TAS Books 3 creates all the relevant paperwork, invoices and purchase orders. It even creates cheques and gives you the option to customise them. Start-up and small businesses are well catered for, with automated procedures for the repetitive accounting tasks, and simplification of more complex and time-consuming tasks, such as VAT.
The system automatically tracks payments, either due or owing, for how much and by whom, and generally allows easy information retrieval.
The programme offers a great deal of good basic accounting advice. It is a well thought-through package and has a simplicity which is very appealing.
