The fact that the Royal Alexandra Hospital did not have enough money for the right kidney dialysis equipment to treat little Ross MacDonald when his kidneys failed is not only sad but scandalous too.
Since it seems unlikely our cash-strapped NHS will be able to fund the purchase of such equipment in the near future, we should support Ross's parents in their endeavour to raise money for this purpose.
This will basically be the task of The Friends of the Royal Alex, but I am wondering if The Argus could give the fund a boost specifically for such a purpose?
Our deepest sympathy is with Ross's parents in their tragic loss.
Many of us will do all we can to ensure very soon the Royal Alex will never again have to send a dying child to London for kidney dialysis when, often, minutes count in such matters.
