An £850,000 park-and-ride scheme has been approved as part of Horsham town centre's transport system.
Motorists using 467 free parking spaces will pay £2 for a three-mile return journey from Hop Oast to Horsham.
Their cars will be protected by CCTV cameras.
The scheme allows buses to activate traffic signals for quick access to the park.
West Sussex county councillor Tex Pemberton, in charge of the environment, has ordered the scheme to be in place by the autumn.
A new on-street parking zone in Horsham also aims to get rid of cars parked all day by commuters.
The service will fit in with the temporary loss of parking spaces from the impending demolition of a multi-storey car park in Worthing Road.
