I agree absolutely with Mrs J M Page (Letters, February 28) about traffic congestion at the University of Sussex.
Her comments are spot on. This area can only become even more problematic if Brighton and Hove Albion move to Falmer.
On a purely selfish note, I think it will become impossible to get through from Brighton to Lewes, where I play tennis regularly at
the Southdown Club, because of long traffic queues. The stretch of road by the university is already very dangerous, with cars feeding in from the left and other cars crossing from the right.
It is naive to expect everyone to catch the train to Falmer or walk. I also agree with JF of Saltdean (Letters, same day). Why not put the stadium in Waterhall? It seems like an ideal site.
When there are pop concerts in Preston Park the noise travels and it seems as if they are partying next door. I can even hear the roar of the crowd from Withdean stadium, which is some distance from Fiveways.
