I was interested to see the article about off-road bikes at Cowley Drive, Woodingdean (The Argus, March 30).
We have the same problem with youngsters tearing up farmers' fields, the woods and the golf course. They have been scaring the wits out of horses. They also rode their bikes around the pathways between sheltered-housing bungalows.
The police stopped them on the public highway but the difficulty is when it comes to private ground. The police will not interfere. It is down to the landowner to prosecute.
The only thing that can be done is for people to keep a record of the time the noise starts and finishes, along with the date.
Report it to the Department of Environmental Health, then the landowner can be prosecuted for noise pollution coming from their property.
