Thank you, Brighton and Hove City Council, for informing me my council tax increased by £63 a year from the beginning of the month.
You might like to know, as a retired person, my main source of income is a small company pension (I do not yet qualify for a state pension) which I have been told will increase by 0.07 per cent from the same time.
This will result in an increase of £46 a year (£36 after deduction of income tax).
There must be many people in a similar position to me who will have to economise in other areas as a result of the huge council tax increase.
