Firefighters were called out eight times in one night - to their own headquarters.
Faulty electrics were blamed for fire alarms being triggered at the East Sussex fire control centre in Upperton Road, Eastbourne.
Crews from the Whitley Road station were kept up throughout Friday night.
Each time the alarm bells rang they were forced to speed to the station.
A brigade spokesman said: "It was crazy. We just kept getting called out.
"It seems to have been down to the electrics because there was no sign of a fire.
"After Friday night we all needed a quiet weekend because none of us got any sleep."
Engineers worked to fix the problem on Saturday.
