I thoroughly enjoyed the article which detailed the many facts surrounding the importance of the early stimulation of young children and the many advantages of parental involvement in such activities (The Argus Woman, April 22).
Unfortunately, the information on Gymboree Play and Music's pricing structures was incomplete and therefore somewhat misleading.
The price for becoming a Gymboree member is £95 for 16 weeks of classes, not 12 weeks. The first class is always free and Gymboree is offering an additional three free classes to all families, making a total of four additional classes.
During these 16 weeks, a member has full and unlimited use of Gymboree's facilities during open gym times, which are currently five times each week.
Therefore a child could attend his or her one class plus five open gym times each week. This means on a per-visit basis the price is about £1.
Even if a child attends only one open gym each week, the price per visit is about £3, entirely comparable with the other children's programmes offered in Brighton.
In addition, Gymboree continually gives special discounts and offers so its pricing is even more attractive.
Gymboree encourages all parents to simply give it a try so they may experience its programme first-hand and decide whether it is right for them.
The first class is always free and there is absolutely no obligation to register thereafter.
