I read with interest that Councillor Fitch wants to save Toads Hole Valley (The Argus, April 17).
He and his comrades in the Labour administration only recently voted to exclude this area from the National Park at full council, effectively putting the foundations in place for development in the valley.
It amazes me, with only 12 months to a local election, our so-called leading representatives start appearing out of the woodwork.
To vote one way and speak to the Press in another, as Coun Fitch has done, is to treat the public with contempt.
-Coun Mark Barnard, Hangleton ward, Brighton and Hove City Council
