Eastbourne Eagles are the team to beat in the Elite League title race.
And now the whole of the speedway world knows it after the Sussex squad put on a super show for the Sky TV cameras.
Eagles destroyed Belle Vue 60-30 in front of the biggest crowd of the season at Arlington Stadium last night.
It all ended with rockets being fired into the night sky, while on the track Eagles provided all the fireworks.
The biggest cracker came from Savalas Clouting, whose Eastbourne future had been questioned in some quarters.
He finished as one of three Eastbourne riders on double figures and produced his best race in Eagles' colours to defeat Grand Prix ace Leigh Adams.
Skipper Joe Screen scored a hat-trick of race wins, and David Norris was on a paid maximum until hurtling into the fence in the final heat.
Mark Loram was also unbeaten in three rides as Eagles ran riot.
The home side started with a bang, taking the first three heats 5-1.
Loram and Norris began the blitz, followed by Clouting and Toni Svab, and then Dean Barker and Stefan Andersson.
Barker, whose form has earned him a late call-up for the world championship qualifying rounds, later escaped injury in a spectacular pile-up.
The Eastbourne rider was catapulted into the air and crashed heavily on to the track when he and Sam Ermolenko collided in heat 12.
Barker's misfortune, however, paved the way for Clouting's showpiece ride.
Brought in as a replacement in the re-run for the battered Barker, Clouting proceeded to lead Adams all the way for a stunning victory.
Two races earlier, Loram had piled into the fence after a first-bend clash with Ermolenko.
Although he came out in the re-run of that one to partner Norris to the pair's third heat maximum of the night on the trot, Loram later missed his last race because of an injured hand.
Screen and Clouting teamed up for another 5-1 in the next by which time Eagles were 47-19 in front.
Much of Belle Vue's resistance was shambolic, only Adams, guesting for the injured Jason Crump, and Karger standing in the way of an Eastbourne romp.
Adams won three races and Karger one.
The biggest let-down was the normally high-performing Jason Lyons, who failed to score a point until the last two races Eagles beat their opponents out of the gate practically all night.
The exception was heat 15, when another 5-1 to Eastbourne would have equalled their biggest win of the season.
Instead Adams and Lyons got the draw on Andersson and Norris, and the outcome was the visitors' only heat advantage of the match.
Eastbourne: David Norris 10, Joe Screen 10, Savalas Clouting 10, Stefan Andersson 9, Mark Loram 8, Toni Svab 7, Dean Barker 6.
Belle Vue: Leigh Adams 14, Brian Karger 6, Jason Lyons 4, Sam Ermolenko 4, Matej Ferjan 1, Tomasz Jedrzejak 1, Andy Galvin 0.
