A Brighton man will be gunning for glory when the new Pirelli British Rally Championship gets underway in Gateshead this weekend.
Andrew Bargery, 30, will again by co-driving for 2001 Autosport National Rally Driver of the Year Justin Dale in one of two Peugeot 206 Super 1600 works drives.
Bargery and Dale have been together since the end of the 1995 season and have enjoyed considerable success, winning four out of the six rounds of the British Junior Championship in their first full year together.
Bargery joined Peugeot Sport as a works co-driver for the 1996 RAC Rally and, in time, moved from amateur to professional.
In 1999, Dale and Bargery won the Ferodo Super 1600 class of the British Championship, having triumphed in five out of the six rounds, and they finished the year with a career-best sixth in the Manx International Rally.
Fout and mouth disease meant the 2001 British Championship was cancelled but now the duo are raring to go again.
Dale said: "The car has come on leaps and bounds and I am happy with it - I just want to get out and win now."
