City councillors are to consider extending the hours of the pedestrianisation scheme in George Street, Hove.
Answering a question from councillor Betty Walshe, Labour councillor Simon Battle told the council two local groups had asked for an extension.
They said the scheme in George Street, Hove, should stop at 6pm instead of 4pm on weekdays and should be extended to include Sundays.
Coun Battle said both ideas were being examined by officers to see if they would improve safety.
Councillor Ted Kemble asked who was responsible for enforcing the parking restrictions in the street after it had been closed.
Coun Battle said a traffic order was being prepared. After it came in, responsibility would lie with NCP parking attendants working for the council.
