Hastings Town rounded off their championship-winning campaign with a 2-2 draw at home to Ashford Town.

But the match was a mere prelude to the end-of-season celebrations as Hastings were presented with the eastern division shield in front of hundreds of jubilant fans. Captain Tony Burt collected the silverware and he was followed up The Pilot Field steps by team-mates and management staff.

Three of the four goals came in the opening 18 minutes.

Burt fired the first salvo with a precise volley only for Simon Elliott to equalise following a mazy solo run.

Hastings regained the lead soon after when Landry Zahana-Oni converted from close range. Ashford levelled things up again on the hour through a 35-yard drive from Dave Hassett. Hastings substitute Steve Restarick hit the bar late on.

Eastbourne Borough missed out on manager Garry Wilson's early-season target of sixth spot when they lost 1-0 at Corby Town.

They hit the bar three teams through John Westcott, Matt Crabb and Matt Smart as they fought to level after Corby's unmarked player-manager Wayne Spencer headed home five before the interval.

St Leonards, had to settle for 20th spot after beiong pipped 1-0 at Rothwell Town who scored in stoppage time through Adam Sturgess. Victory would have sealed Saints the 14th spot.

Crawley were denied a last-day victory by an injury-time equaliser from relegated King's Lynn in their 2-2 draw at The Walks in the premier division.

Two second-half goals in the space of a minute changed the game as substitute Ben Abbey put Reds ahead when he twisted and turned at the far post before rolling the ball home.

King's Lynn equalised seconds later through a deflected Wayne Anderson volley.

Stewart Holmes restored Reds lead with five minutes left, curling the ball into the corner, before Jamie Clarke headed the hosts level.
