Mobile phone company Orange has invited residents from a block of flats to discuss a proposal to put a mast on their roof.
The company wants to put up a mast at Wilbury Lodge in Wilbury Road, Hove, despite objections from many residents of the 35 flats.
Orange applied to Brighton and Hove City Council for permission in March but withdrew it because the block was in a conservation area and the scheme would have had to be altered to comply with strict regulations.
The company has now organised a public meeting at All Saints Church Hall in The Drive, Hove, on May 9 to discuss residents' concerns.
A spokesman for Orange said the company had not yet made another application but was "holding pre-application consultations at the moment".
A representative from Orange will attend to talk about health and safety fears.
The company has written to all residents asking them to attend and inviting them to write in before the meeting if they want any specific concerns to be addressed.
One resident, who asked not to be named, said: "Those leaseholders who are free and not too elderly will attend, not so much to find out about the proposals but to put forth our criticisms."
Earlier this year, GVA Grimley, international property advisers acting on behalf of Orange, told residents in a letter: "The proposed site at Wilbury Lodge would provide coverage and capacity to the surrounding area.
"This is required forthe local residential and business area of Hove and also for the Sussex Cricket Ground."
The meeting starts at 7.30pm and all are welcome.
