Gary Croydon is quitting as manager of Rich City County League Burgess Hill, just days after steering them to the division one title.
Assistant manager Danny Bloor will take over the reins from Croydon at the end of the season.
Croydon said: "I am stepping down as manager.
"I have been there four years, one year as Alan Pook's assistant and three years as manager.
"The fact of the matter is that you get a bit worn out by it all.
"It is all right to sit in mid-table obscurity as some clubs are happy to do but when you spend close to 200 games with a side which is close to the top, every week feels like a cup final.
"I am pretty tired and pretty drained in that way.
"It is not the end of my football career as a manager I just want a rest from Burgess Hill."
The Hillians have won the County League three times in the last five years and this season also enjoyed a lengthy run in the FA Vase which took them to the quarter-finals.
Croydon added: "I am a director of Burgess Hill and I hope my future lies with Burgess Hill continuing to help with the development of the ground and to go forward."
