An appeal has gone out to clubs and organisations to take part in a fun day on Saturday.
They are being invited to put on a show or display in the main arena at the Hove Family Fun Day.
The organisers are offering to pay reasonable travel expenses for those taking part.
Organiser Liz Wake-ling said: "The event has been running for 24 years and is usually part of the Brighton Festival fringe.
"For some reason, we were left out of the festival programme this year and we have been trying to drum up as much publicity as possible.
"We have a number of events for the main arena, including the Royal Marines with a field gun, but we need more.
"If there are any dance schools, dog clubs or other community groups who would like to put on an organised display, they are welcome to come along.
"We don't have a lot of spare cash to splash around but we are prepared to pay travel costs if necessary."
The event takes place on Hove Lawns, Kingsway, from 10am to 4pm.
Anyone wanting to take part should contact Liz on 01273 430508.
