sussex skipper Chris Adams is out for at least another two weeks because he needs an operation on his injured knee.
Adams will go into hospital today for keyhole surgery to repair a small cartilage tear in his left knee.
A realistic date for his comeback is Sussex's next home Championship match against Yorkshire at Arundel which starts on June 26.
Coach Peter Moores said: "It's obviously a blow to lose the captain for another two weeks, but it's a minor op and the surgeon seems to think it will clear up the trouble he's been having for good."
Adams aggravated the injury bowling in the nets nearly three weeks ago.
Meanwhile, Sussex have named an unchanged team for tomorrow's National League match against Middlesex at Lord's (1pm).
Not surprisingly they have kept faith with the team which beat Essex on Tuesday to record their first win in Division Two this season.
"We went into that game with a lot of energy and we must look to produce that sort of performance again," added Moores.
Sussex: Yardy, Montgomerie, Zuiderent, Goodwin, Martin-Jenkins, House Prior, Innes, Davis, Kirtley, Taylor.
