I have been following J Jackson's comments on hunting with dogs, the latest of which (Letters, June 5) deserves a reply.
He or she would be advised to update his or her argument on the issue of a fox being killed by a bite "to the back of the neck".
This fallacious argument by pro-hunters has been long rubbished by veterinary surgeons who have been asked to undertake post-mortems on foxes killed during hunts.
Their scientific evidence has shown that the fox has normally been bitten to death and disembowelled.
To use abortion issues in the argument to retain hunting with dogs shows the true warpedness of mind that hunting supporters stoop to in order that their sport be preserved.
Cruelty to animals should be treated as a form of perversion.
Hunting is not a matter of civil liberties but a convenient name for the most distasteful members of our society to take part in a legal form of perversion.
