If you ever wanted to drive a massive truck at high speeds with no regard for other road users, try JoWooD Production's new King of the Road game.
It relies mainly on strategy and, although driving ability comes into the equation, the player who dares most will almost certainly win in the end.
At the start of each journey, the player is given cargo as diverse as Kalashnikov rifles, bread, video cameras and explosives which must all be delivered in the shortest possible time. The quicker the cargo arrives the more money the driver earns.
Players have to complete a 150-kilometre course and decide whether they will risk jumping red lights and zooming past speed cameras to get a faster time.
By earning money from quick deliveries, the player can build up a team of drivers each racing around making deliveries. Gamers have to achieve 51 per cent of the market share to win the game.
There are more than 50 kilometres of secret roads and short cuts to overtake competitors.
A variety of weather conditions and scenic backdrops makes the game visually attractive.
