I have followed the story of Bruce the police dog and have relayed each instalment to a friend who does not read The Argus.
On Wednesday night (June 12), I did not feel I could tell her, yet again, his story was being told because on that day she received the news that her son's one-to-one hours at school had been cut from 12 to four hours a week.
I was shocked at the news of a healthy, hard-working dog being put to sleep but it's not as shocking as a boy with special needs not getting the extra help that would benefit him enormously.
Poor Bruce didn't deserve to die but take a look around - there are plenty of other causes that need people with kind hearts to campaign on their behalf.
