I am pleased Brighton and Hove City Council's planning committee has made the right decision for the Falmer community stadium (The Argus, June 13) and I hope, if the decision is "called in" by the Government, the process is not unnecessarily protracted.
What can begin straight away is a real debate about what we mean by a community stadium, how we want it used other than for football and what the community would like to see there. Councillors must be fully involved with these discussions and local people should make their views known to them.
-Coun Gill Mitchell, Brighton and Hove City Council
