A teenager led a friend to the boot of a car containing a human foot to prove he had murdered an elderly cleric, a jury heard.

Nathan Cox, 17, was allegedly shown the Rev Ronald Glazebrook's foot after doubting Christopher Hunnisett had murdered the clergyman.

Mr Cox told Lewes Crown Court he, Hunnisett and Jason Groves were skating in Hampden Park, Eastbourne, when he was told of the killing.

Groves said Hunnisett had drowned Mr Glazebrook at his flat in Dane Road, St Leonards, and Hunnisett nodded in agreement.

Later, Groves, of Stonehouse Drive, St Leonards and Hunnisett, formerly of Coventry Road, St Leonards, visited Mr Cox at his home and he was told parts of the vicar's body were in the boot of the Toyota Carina, parked outside.

Mr Cox said Groves repeatedly goaded Hunnisett into showing him Mr Glazebrook's body - "Jason was telling Chris 'Show him, show him' but Chris said 'No'.

"As we were walking down to the car, Jason kept on at Chris to show me and Chris agreed." Mr Cox said: "I couldn't believe what I saw."

Hunnisett, 18, denies murder.

He and Groves, also 18, admit conspiring to prevent Mr Glazebrook's lawful burial.

The case continues.
