Mods and rockers will return to Hastings seafront 30 years after they clashed with each other.
Singer Adam Faith will open an exhibition of photographs taken on a fateful bank holiday weekend in 1964 when mods and rockers met and fought.
The event was dubbed the Second Battle of Hastings and the exhibition, at the Hastings Museum and Art Gallery, will also feature Sixties memorabilia and a Vespa.
Pupils from the New Horizons School, Hollington, will be displaying work based on a mods and rockers theme, created with artist Liz Major as part of National Children's Art Day.
Councillor Godfrey Daniel, chairman of the museums committee, said: "Most people of my age, which is of course a state secret, identified as either being a mod or a rocker.
"I have to confess to owning a Vespa scooter in Brighton in the Sixties, so I suppose I was a bit of a mod though my ancient machine wasn't up to experiencing the delights of Hastings at the time.
"I'm looking forward to the mods and rockers garden party, though without my now deceased Vespa."
The exhibition will be launched at a garden party on Saturday at 2pm at the museum.
