An historic pub will be turned into five flats.
Members of Eastbourne Borough Council's planning and licensing committee followed officers' recommendations to allow the Kings Arms Pub, Seaside, to be developed.
The Grade ll listed building will contain three two-bedroomed flats and two one-bedroomed flats on the first, second and third floors.
Owners hoped to reopen the pub, built in 1900 and originally known as the the Kings Arms Hotel, on the ground floor.
