Tony Cottey fired 80 as Sussex 2nd XI thrashed the Army by 110 runs at Aldershot yesterday.
Cottey, who played in the same fixture last season when the Army triumphed, helped Sussex post 265-4 after they won the toss.
The Army could only muster 155-6 from their 50 overs in reply with opener David O'Kelly making 34 before being bowled by off spinner Cottey. Coach Mark Robinson helped peg back the hosts by taking early wickets and he finished with 3-18 from nine overs.
Cottey, bowled by West Indian paceman Trevor Fabien, earlier featured in a century stand for the fourth wicket with Carl Hopkinson, who made 37.
Jamie Carpenter and Andy Perry struck half centuries and they put on 99 for the second wicket after Dominic Clapp fell for a duck.
