Three teenagers wearing England shirts made their getaway in an invalid carriage they stole from a pensioner.
The elderly woman had left her £400 carriage outside a shop in Durlston Drive, Bognor, for five minutes on Tuesday while she went in for a bottle of milk.
When she came back, it had gone.
Three youths in their late teens, wearing white England football shirts and blue jeans, had been seen standing on the other side of the road.
A group of teenagers matching the description were later seen in Sandymount Avenue with the invalid carriage and were seen again by some teenage girls in Hampshire Avenue, heading towards Collyer Avenue.
The carriage, which was bought by its owner 18 months ago, is a brown three-wheeler, battery-powered vehicle with a tan seat and metallic silver handle bars.
Police today appealed for information about the theft.
