Francis the cat has returned to the Worthing Cat Welfare Trust centre in Findon a year after he escaped.

But he is a changed cat. No one knows what happened to him on his adventures but he is in a bad way and may have been run over.

Now he has being given acupuncture in a bid to restore him to full feline health once again.

This time he had better stay - for it sounds as if Francis has already used up eight of his nine lives.
