Chris Adams is fit to lead Sussex against champions Yorkshire at Arundel tomorrow.

The Sussex skipper had a net yesterday and felt no reaction to the knee injury he suffered five weeks ago and which required minor surgery earlier this month.

Adams is relishing the prospect of leading the side for the first time since May 20 as Sussex aim to complete the double over the struggling Tykes.

The county won by an innings at Headingley a fortnight ago, a defeat which sent Yorkshire to the bottom of the first division.

Adams said: "I've been out for five weeks, and this is a big match to come back for," he said.

"I've always played well at Arundel and I'm really looking forward to the challenge of taking on Yorkshire.

"I'll be continuing where I left off in May and I'm determined to have a great season for Sussex and in doing so put myself in the frame for the Ashes and World Cup this winter."

Sussex have included both ex-Yorkshire paceman Mark Robinson and Jason Lewry in their 13-man squad and it looks like a choice between those two for the place vacated by James Kirtley who is with the England one-day party.

Adams is likely to replace Tony Cottey who picked up a groin injury in the defeat by West Indies A on Friday and is rated 'very doubtful' by Moores.

He was unable to play for Wales in their eight-wicket win over England in yesterday's warm-up match in Cardiff. Kirtley took both Welsh wickets and finished with 2-37.

Sussex (probable): Montgomerie, Goodwin, Adams, Yardy, Ambrose, Martin-Jenkins, Prior, Innes, Davis, Taylor, Lewry or Robinson.
