Dozens of extra staff will help regular employees keep the beaches clean this summer.
Up to 40 temporary workers are being employed by Brighton and Hove City Council to ensure the seven miles of shore remain clean.
They are particularly keen to tidy up anything which could injure people, such as broken glass.
The most bizarre items recently found by cleaners included a dead cow, believed to have fallen over a cliff, a deer and the remains of a dolphin.
Rubbish dumped by humans has varied from old tractor tyres to a complete motorbike.
Crews keep the walkways clear by shovelling back shingle washed on to the prom after storms.
Work continues late into the evening to get rid of debris left by thousands of clubbers.
Supervisor Petula Linward said: "People think working down here just means strolling on the beach all day but they couldn't be more wrong.
"There is a lot of hard work involved. The beach has never been as clean and I think people can be proud of it."
Environment councillor Chris Morley said: "They do a fantastic job all year but are particularly busy during the summer. Their hard work keeps the beaches clean for everyone."
