Two Sussex fighters, both from the Ronnie Davies camp, had mixed fortunes at the Elephant and Castle in London.

Light-heavyweight Neil Linford scored a notable stoppage over Hull veteran Tony Booth, but cruiserweight Brodie Permain dropped a four round decision to Epsom's unbeaten Tommy Eastwood.

It was Linford's second win since joining Davies after moving to Brighton from Leicester and stepping up from super-middleweight.

He put up a remarkable showing against the experienced Booth, dropping his man twice in the fourth round and once in the fifth before referee Larry O'Connell called off the contest.

Permain, from Lewes, put up a good show against the unbeaten Eastwood, but was shaken several times by heavy right uppercuts and lost the verdict by 39-37 or three rounds to one.
