An unbeaten century from Bas Zuiderent helped Sussex II beat the MCC young Professionals by 26 runs to record their first win in the one-day trophy yesterday.
Zuiderent (100) and Will House (58 not out) shared an unbroken fourth wicket stand of 136 as Sussex made 307-3 after winning the toss at Uxbridge.
Mark Wright struck 103 not out for the MCC, who replied with 281-8 from their 50 overs.
Off-spinner Martin Dobson, who was released by Northants last season, bowled tidily to take 2-39 on his Sussex debut.
Zuiderent's first century of the season included eight fours and two sixes off 90 balls. House faced only 39 deliveries, hitting five fours and three sixes.
