Two people were arrested after suspected crack cocaine was seized in a raid.
Officers swooped on the Brighton home of a couple they believed were dealing in the drug.
Crack cocaine and heroin with a street value of more than £500 was found.
The amount of the drug discovered was small compared to some recent hauls but is part of an increasing quantity being found.
Sergeant Nev Kemp, of Brighton and Hove police, said: "It would be unusual for a day to go by without a seizure of crack cocaine."
Yesterday's raid took place at an address off Lewes Road.
Home Office Minister Bob Ainsworth warned earlier this week there was a particular problem with crack cocaine and its trafficking. It was potentially the biggest challenge facing police as dealers spread from London to other cities.
In Brighton and Hove, police have seized an estimated 200kg of the drug since January, with a street value of about £200,000.
Mr Kemp said: "It is difficult to say how much is coming in but it has increased over the past couple of years as it has done in every large city.
A woman faces charges of intent to supply crack cocaine following yesterday's raid.
The dozen "rocks," cocaine cooked into small hard lumps, which give addicts a quick, powerful and highly-addictive hit, were concealed inside her body.
A man arrested in the same raid is expected to be charged with possession of heroin. Drug paraphernalia was also seized.
