A parent will appear in court next month to explain why their child failed to go to school.
The parent from Eastbourne was arrested on June 19 after failing to appear at Eastbourne Magistrates Court on May 14 and June 11.
They were released on conditional bail and will appear before magistrates on July 17.
The case comes after education officers and the police mounted a huge truancy sweep throughout the county to help reduce the fear of juvenile crime and get children back in to schools.
